In today’s society, many concepts of effective communication are lost among digital transmissions. Digital etiquette is more casual and often seeps into our professional and personal communications. As more and more youth rely on text-messaging as a primary method of communication, there is a schism growing between generations as we struggle to communicate with each other. Team Building —Building the Right Team to Get the Job Done. Covers the essential aspects of building an effective team: (1) selecting for the 5 C’s of an Effective Team: Competency, Complements, Character, Completion, and Cultivation; (2) understanding the major differences that impact team dynamics: Gender, Generational, Cultural Ethnicities, Socioeconomic, Group Culture, and Personality and Work Styles; (3) learning to leverage those differences; (4) understanding the common themes; and (5) overcoming communication challenges that prevent a team from being cohesive. The presentation will emphasize that a team must be created, and, like any relationship, requires a real commitment to keeping the team dynamics healthy and productive.

So . . . You’re a Board Member . . . Now What? Board Responsibilities. A presentation that helps new board members to: (1) review the basic responsibilities of board members; (2) reinforce the importance of leadership and teamwork; (3) learn how to plan with integrity and (4) commit to being the best leader and team member

Professional Branding. Covers the essential aspects of developing an effective professional brand: (1) retooling your resume to be a blueprint for defining your professional brand, (2) launching your professional brand through action and accomplishment, and (3) delivering consistent results through deliberate actions, genuine effort, superior performance, and integrity. The presentation will use the analogy of successful marketing campaigns to teach participants how to be their own account executives. The presentation will show how our professional and personal image should be deliberately developed through our relationships, our volunteer activities, and our accomplishments in the workplace. The presentation will also cover how to avoid sabotaging a professional image through misuse of social media, personal behaviors and choices and other unfavorable branding. The participant will have a better understanding of how to give themselves an edge through packaging and marketing their capabilities, attributes and accomplishments. Participants receive a one-page marketing plan tool)

Planning Your Strategy–Planning Your Success. A practical guide to strategic planning and goal setting. The class provides a tool for developing action plans and applying the concepts learned during the class and stimulates additional thought and application post-class through individual consideration of the reflective questions.
